An effective team cares about each member. Our company’s culture not only stresses a positive, creative environment but also promotes a healthy work/life balance. Our initiatives also support individuals from outside the Velis team, whose well-being is equally important, for example, students.
No person — or company — is an island. We support charitable endeavours for society, including financial and in-kind support for childcare and early education centres, senior living facilities, and training schemes for university students.
Our company is managed with the ecosystem we share in mind. Both our products and our internal operations seek to limit the release of greenhouse gasses, support recycling, lighten the environmental footprint, and more.
We’ve found a variety of ways to give back to the community and support initiatives bringing positive change.
We help societies, we help individuals. Despite the sanitary regime and social distancing, we recently happily joined forces to meet the #GaszynChallenge and did ten push-ups (or squats) to help Maciuś suffering from spinal muscle atrophy (SMA). Watch our video here.
One of our initiatives is also helping animals. Recently, we donated dog kennels for the Dog Rescue Association and members of our Team shared also some gifts for dogs and cats. Supporting the animal shelter was the idea which came from Beata, our Business Analyst.
Like so many, we’ve found COVID-19 to be challenging and something that has called out to us to support our community—especially the frontline Healthcare Heroes who risk their own health to take care of others. Working in collaboration with other local companies, we’ve donated protective masks to one of the hospitals.
Before embracing the kind of technology we work with at Velis, students need access to the basic building blocks of creativity. That’s why early education is a cause we support. For example, we recently donated e-books, art supplies, and other imaginative gifts to three Care and Educational Centres.
We are directly engaged in bringing educational opportunities to students interested in careers in the real estate. Our staff regularly conducts training workshops and seminars at universities and provides educational licenses of our software for students to work with. We also provide hands-on experience and up-to-date knowledge to students seeking to develop their professional skills. This includes working with students from various organizations focusing on the real estate industry.
As a tech company, we go through a lot of devices. Oftentimes we find even fairly new equipment needs to be upgraded. One solution to this churn that we recently instituted was donating laptops to the computer labs of local Care and Educational Centre. Maybe a few of our future coders will start their careers on them.
